This is driving me nuts, latest example from Mashable:
Last month, Apple began enforcing its new in-app subscription rules, which require developers to remove external links to sites where users can purchase digital content or subscriptions without having to share any of the proceeds with Apple. Consequently, users have been forced to close out of the Kindle app and open their web browsers every time they wanted to purchase a book — an unwelcome inconvenience, to say the least.
Emphases mine. Are these rules by Apple obnoxious and counterproductive? Sure. But, do they amount to anything beyond an “unwelcome inconvenience”? Nope.
God save us from an unwelcome inconvenience! Classic “Everything’s Great and Nobody’s Happy” moment.
